Meet your counsellor Sal

I'm Sal, a counsellor based in Currumbin on the Gold Coast, also available online.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening and better understand yourself. Together, we can explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck and find practical ways forward.

I take a mind–body approach to wellbeing and also offer Reiki, either alongside counselling or on its own, for those who feel drawn to it.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you reach out.

Individual Online Counselling

A calm, confidential space to talk, reflect and reconnect with yourself.

Online counselling gives you dedicated time to step away from everything else and focus on what's happening for you.

You may be struggling with something specific, navigating a difficult period or simply feeling that you're not quite yourself.

I commonly support people experiencing:

  • Anxiety, stress and overwhelm

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Separation and relationship breakdown

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma and difficult past experiences

  • Low confidence or self-esteem

  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion

  • Parenting challenges

  • Difficult family relationships

  • Major life transitions

  • Women's wellbeing

  • Perimenopause and menopause

  • Feeling stuck or disconnected

  • Personal growth and self-discovery

You don't need to know exactly what you want from counselling before you begin.

Sometimes the starting point is simply knowing that something doesn't feel right and you'd like some support working through it.

Couples online counselling

Couples Online Counselling

Relationships can become stuck in patterns that are difficult to see when you're living inside them.

You may find yourselves having the same argument repeatedly, struggling to communicate, feeling disconnected or wondering how you reached this point.

Online couples counselling provides a neutral, supportive space where both of you can slow things down and begin understanding what's happening beneath the conflict.

We may work on:

  • Communication

  • Recurring arguments and conflict

  • Emotional disconnection

  • Understanding each other's needs

  • Rebuilding trust

  • Intimacy and affection

  • Resentment

  • Parenting differences

  • Major life transitions

  • Strengthening your emotional connection

You don't need to wait until your relationship is in crisis to seek counselling.

Sometimes couples come because something isn't working. Others come because they want to understand each other better and strengthen the relationship they already have.

Therapy, wherever you are

For many people, talking from their own home can actually make counselling feel easier.

There's no driving, parking or waiting room. You simply find somewhere private and comfortable, click the link I send you and we begin.

Online counselling can be particularly helpful if you:

  • Have a busy work or family schedule

  • Live outside the Gold Coast

  • Find it difficult to attend appointments in person

  • Travel regularly

  • Feel more comfortable talking from home

  • Prefer the convenience and flexibility of online sessions

You don't need any special technology. You'll simply need a private space, an internet connection and a phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone.

What is online counselling with me like?

My approach is warm, compassionate and down-to-earth.

Counselling isn't about me telling you what to do or giving you a formula for how you should live your life.

Instead, we create space to understand what's happening for you.

Together, we might explore your thoughts and emotions, relationship patterns, past experiences, beliefs about yourself and the ways you respond when life becomes difficult.

Some sessions may involve deeper reflection. Others might be more practical and focused on strategies or changes you can take into everyday life.

Everyone is different, so I don't believe counselling needs to follow exactly the same format for every person.

We take it as it comes and allow the process to be guided by you and what you need.

How does online counselling work?

Online sessions are simple.

Once you've booked your appointment, I'll send you a Google Meet link.

At your appointment time, simply click the link from your phone, tablet or computer and we'll meet privately online.

You don't need to download complicated software or create a new account.

Some people enjoy having the video connection, while others feel more comfortable with less focus on the screen. We can work out what feels most comfortable for you.

The important thing is creating a space where you feel able to talk openly.

Your first session

You don't need to prepare anything before your first counselling session.

We'll start by talking about what has brought you to counselling, what's happening in your life at the moment and what you'd like support with.

There's no expectation that you tell me everything in the first appointment.

We take things at your pace.

For individual counselling there are no lock-in contracts and no required number of sessions. Some people come for support through a particular situation, while others choose to continue counselling as part of their longer-term personal growth.

Is online counselling right for me?

Online counselling works well for many people, but ultimately it comes down to what makes you feel most comfortable.

Some people love being able to talk from their own home. Others prefer physically stepping away from everyday life and coming into the counselling room.

Neither is better.

If you're local to the Gold Coast, you're welcome to choose between online counselling or in-person counselling at my Currumbin practice.

You can also move between the two when needed.

Not sure if we're the right fit?

Finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with matters.

If you'd prefer to have a quick conversation before booking a full session, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call.

It's simply an opportunity to meet, briefly talk about what you're looking for and see whether working together feels right for you.
