Reiki in Currumbin
A gentle space to slow down, reconnect and support your overall wellbeing
I believe in a mind–body approach to wellbeing, recognising that our emotional experiences aren't always experienced through thoughts alone. Stress, overwhelm and difficult periods in our lives can also be felt within the body.
Alongside counselling, I offer Reiki as an optional addition to your counselling session or as a standalone treatment from my private practice in Currumbin on the Gold Coast.
Reiki isn't something I expect everyone to connect with, and it is never a requirement within counselling. Everyone is different.
It's simply another option available for those who feel drawn to it.
Reiki — $120 / 50 minutes
Counselling + Reiki — $140 / 60 minutes
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy traditionally used to support relaxation and a sense of wellbeing.
During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed and relax comfortably on a treatment table while I place my hands gently on, or just above, different areas of the body.
There is nothing you need to do.
For many people, the value of the session is simply having permission to stop — to step away from the constant thinking, doing and managing of everyday life and spend some time being still.
Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some people describe feeling deeply relaxed, warm or calm, while others simply enjoy having quiet time to reconnect with themselves.
There is no particular way you are expected to feel.
Counselling + Reiki

Counselling + Reiki
Supporting both mind and body
Sometimes we can understand something intellectually and still notice that our body feels tense, overwhelmed or unable to completely settle.
For clients who are interested in a more holistic approach, Reiki can be incorporated into a counselling session.
We might begin with counselling, giving you space to talk through what is happening, explore emotions and understand patterns or experiences that may be affecting you.
We can then move into Reiki, allowing some quieter time to slow down and reconnect with the body.
For some people, this combination provides a natural transition from talking and understanding into rest and reflection.
There is no set formula. We can adapt the balance between counselling and Reiki depending on what you need on the day
.
Counselling + Reiki — $140 / 60 minutes
Do I have to include Reiki in counselling?
Absolutely not.
Reiki is completely optional.
My counselling practice is first and foremost a space where you can talk openly, explore what's happening and receive professional counselling support.
I recognise that Reiki will resonate with some people and not with others.
If you prefer counselling alone, that's completely welcome.
If you're curious about Reiki, we can talk about it and decide whether you would like to incorporate it into a session.
There is never any pressure or expectation to do so.
Reiki as a Standalone Treatment
You don't need to be attending counselling to book Reiki.
Reiki is also available as a separate treatment for people who simply want some time to slow down, relax and reconnect.
You may choose Reiki because life feels particularly busy or stressful, because you're feeling emotionally drained, or simply because you enjoy making space for rest and self-care.
You don't need to arrive with a particular problem to solve.
Your session is simply time set aside for you.
Standalone Reiki — $120 / 50 minutes
What happens during a Reiki session?
When you arrive, we'll spend a few minutes checking in and talking about how you're feeling and what you'd like from the session.
You'll then lie comfortably on the treatment table fully clothed.
I work gently with my hands placed lightly on, or hovering just above, different areas of the body.
You don't need to talk during the treatment unless you want to.
The intention is simply to create a calm environment where you can slow down and allow yourself some time away from everyday demands.
Afterwards, we'll take a few moments before you leave so you don't feel rushed straight back into your day.
A complementary approach
Reiki is a complementary wellbeing practice and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure physical or mental health conditions.
It can sit alongside counselling, medical care and other professional health support rather than replacing them.
I believe everyone should be able to choose the approaches that feel right for them.
For some people that's counselling.
For others it's Reiki.
And for some, it's a combination of both.
